I remember seeing they signed somebody and thinking "man, every band they sign has an album already", but it may have been an exaggeration. I don't know about the other bands on their roster though. The labels probably like it because they don't have to front a lot of $ for recording and producing the album, they just put the album out in stores and then focus on promotion. And the bands benefit from the distribution and the promo / touring exposure. a lot of new bands seem to be doing these “as is” deals. They have these deals where they sign artists to "as is" deals which basically means that any album that had been previously available is going to be released pretty much as is. I don't know if it's been re-mixed or re-mastered, but to my knowledge, it's the same album. Yeah, they’re releasing the same album.
