Ex-Stone Sour Drummer Forms New Band

Former Stone Sour drummer Joel Ekman has formed a new band named Isaac James. The band was named after Ekman’s son who was diagnosed and later passed of brain cancer. The drummer had left Stone Sour to care for his son.

The band is in the process of recording a five-song EP titled ‘Too Much Horsepower‘ which they hope to release soon.

    I didn’t know the kid passed, that’s horrible :( . I’d say that’s a good way to honor him.

An ironic note, these guys were part of Livy High (a band mentioned on here in 25 Unsigned Bands2Know 2009)
They quickly had creative differences, and decided to forge on ahead without the current singer, putting Blackie back in the front of the stage.
