Wow… so it’s a mix CD with a Cheap Trick version of the theme song… Supe.

It’d be nice if there’d be more songs on there that reflect the movie…because it otherwise looks like Warner Music Group’s “Now That’s What I Call Active Rock”.

Interesting list. Not bad song choices in general, but I don’t know how well they are going to go along with the tones of the actual movie.

Maybe 2 or 3 of these are in the actual movie, i only like that Staind track

wow it seems like none of those songs belong on a transformers soundtrack. but is that a new song from The Used? also im more excited to hear The Score just cuz of linkin park

Nah, it isn’t a new song from The Used. It’s a cover of the song by Talking Heads that was on the “Covered: A Revolution in Sound” album that was released a month or two ago.

I think I own aall of these songs, save for the cheap trick remix, which I’m guessing will be forgettable…
xeroblade, the song “Burning Down the House” was originally done by the Talking Heads, so it is a cover, and is currently available through Warner’s “Covered” collection called “A Revolution in Sound,” which is actually a pretty good comp…I too am now mor einterested in the score, since I’ve heard all these songs before…
I agree with All Nightmare Long in that these are good songs, they really just don’t seem to fit what I think a Transformers soundtrack should be…And, as Cfw kind of implied, this seems more like the label (Warner) taking advantage of the soundtrack and using to promote their bands/albums/etc..

    my thoughts by track:

    1. Linkin Park – “New Divide” <—– i think it may grow on me, but i’m iffy on this track so far.

    2. Green Day – “21 Guns” <—only heard the 30 second itunes snippet and somehow i feel “Know Your enemy” would fit better. but good choice

    3. Cavo – “Let It Go” <—never heard it.

    4. Taking Back Sunday – “Capital M-E” <—-Not a fan of Tacking back sunday

    5. The Fray – “Never Say Never” <—-YES!!!! Great song, one of my favorite songs.

    6. Nickelback – “Burn It To The Ground” <—Meh. It’s a decent song, but i’m impartial on Nickelback

    7. The Used – “Burning Down The House” <—Havent really been a fan of the Used ever, but this has bad cover written all over it

    8. Theory Of A Deadman – “Not Meant To Be”<—Ugh. No, Just No. TOAD was so much better back with they’re first album. They’ve lost so much edge and grit in my book and have becom Nickelback Jr.

    9. The All-American Rejects – “Real World” <— Ewwwww. DO NOT WANT

    10. Hoobastank – “Don’t Think I Love You” <—- see above

    11. Staind – “This Is It” <— Ok song. but they could’ve just as easily revived “Mudshovel”

    12. Avenged Sevenfold – “Almost Easy” <—the one song i like of their most recent album, the rest i cant get into. They’ve also kinda sold out with that record.

    13. Cheap Trick – “Transformers™ The Fallen Remix” <——I really wanna hear this. Hopefully it doesn’t suck.

So overall, this is an album where i’ll download a few tracks. I’m excited for the score though.

The Used cover of Burning Down the House is a good cover! I like the electronic sound they used for the percussion and I disagree with your comment about TOAD, yes maybe they have lightened-up with songs like “Not Meant to Be” and “All or Nothing” but they are NOT Nickelback Jr.– I love the up-tempo/gritty songs from TOAD but I really must say that I enjoy the slower songs from TOAD more than anything, songs such as: Wait For Me, Heaven (Little By Little), In the Middle, Since You’ve Been Gone, Hello Lonely and so on.. People just can’t get over that Kroeger damnit!

This to me is like a sampler. Linkin Park’s new single aptly titled “New Divide” is the reason behind the “Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen” OST which reminds me of the “Twilight” OST with Paramore’s “Decode” single that served up with other bands/musicians with their songs that were previously released.

But the trailer is killer! The computer effects were not that bad actually.

I’ve grown past owing “soundtrack” LPs. Cavo is the band to check out and the June 2nd release date mishap could mean…is the soundtrack from the Transformers sequel to blame?

    Holy Warner Bros./Reprise

  13. xeroblade June 4, 2009 at 2:16 am #

frisky and xDanx thanks. and i will just skip this one. i too think none of these songs fit the movie except of course the lp one but oh well the movie will be sick that is all that matters!
