Chevelle, P.O.D., And Papa Roach Members Form New Band

Former Rock Star Supernova front-man Lukas Rossi has put together a new supergroup named Interview. The band includes P.O.D. guitarist Marcos Curiel, former Chevelle bassist Joe Loeffler, and former Papa Roach drummer Dave Buckner.

No music is available yet, but you can check out the band’s Myspace here.

Thanks chris7

Wow, another “supergroup” destined for obscurity.

  2. Vic says:

Ironic. Just earlier today I was thinking, “There are way too many bands with forgettable, overly-simplistic names.” Not even kidding.

  3. chris7 says:

    No problem ;)

Silent Season is changing their name to Resume

If you had former members of well-respected bands that they were in “hanging around” and “itching to go”, Lukas Rossi “jumped in” at the opportunity. He had a project known as ‘Stars Down’ on the go but didn’t pan out in Rossi’s own liking according to his wikipedia page.

Obscure names? Cleavage, Rock Star Supernova, and Stars Down. Pretty much so, but I don’t mind the “supergroup” thing anyway. Just depends on the material “raring to go” that goes along with the name like ‘Interview’.

  6. What happened to original band names? If you are in a decent band and start a ’super group’ you have to open the dictionary and point at a random word and that’s your new band name? On a side note, I am interested to see what will come of this, but super groups are normally doomed or don’t live up to the hype.

I don’t care if the band is named ShitHead as long as they drop the hammer.

i’ll wait until i hear music from them to pass judgement. Marcos is a decent guitarist though. should be interesting to see how he fits into a group thats not rap-rock

This could prove to be very good. Hopefully it lives up to my expectations.

Dark New Day Version 2.0. It’ll be interesting to hear what they sound like.

  11. EvilAngel says:

jman3000 what makes you call it “Dark New Day Version 2.0″?
i’m jst wondering beacuse frankly Dark New Day is the only supergroup i like

I’m sick of awful band names.

  13. Eitan says:

I still remember listening to Theory Of A Deadman for the first time (it was the spiderman OST), and it thought to myself: “Man, with a name like that, they don’t sound THAT hard”.

  14. Flyfreak says:

I remember listening to TOAD and thinking, man, this is crap.

  15. rockett says:

Hardly a “supergroup” if its full of rejected band members. Does anyone think a group of 4 musicians who pissed off their former bands are going to get along any better w/ each other? Oh yeah, horrid band name too.

  16. Dark New Day was a good super group, but Violent Plan has promise as does Society Red. Chickenfoot had too much potential and wasted it. ALSO, Marcos was in another band while Truby filled in for him in P.O.D., that was not rap rock, The Accident Experiment.

  17. drastic8 says:

I remember listening to TOAD and thinking, man, does his voice sound like that all the time? For every song?

“Hard rock” is becoming a staple on mainstream radio these days. Lukas Rossi (hearing how his pipes sound raspy) is the next ‘poster’ boy to embody the metal/rock hybrid. Two of the three bandmemebers took part in the rap phase, in the metal/rock hybrid. It’ll be interesting that the band Chevelle that Joe Loeffler was formerly in had NO rap in their music as it was Tool/Helmet influenced. Based on the material that’s “raring to go” in this musical project, that will be the ONLY, only way to pass judgment ;)

  19. Flyfreak says:

Why all the stupid speculation “this guy does rap, this guy does hip-hop, this guy sucks cock”, who cares? I want to hear some tunes, then let the talk begin.

  20. relic says:

Was wondering what happened to Joey. I don’t think it will be good only due to the Singer.

  21. Flyfreak says:

relic, are you insane. Rossi is the only one who will make this the band bigger than Elvis.

  22. jman3000 says:

EvilAngel, I’m calling it that because all these band members are from different hard rock bands much like the Dark New Day members as opposed to just having a lead singer aka Scott Weiland join a band thats already there. But again, it’ll be interesting to see if they keep the hard rock roots intact. Speaking of which, will we ever see the new Dark New Day album? hmmmm

  23. samanthavega says:

Not a fan of Rossi but I do love Loeffler and Buckner :) Curious to hear what this will sound like.

  24. Brandy Lee says:

If your looking for a cookie cutter band look elsewhere. The singer of this band knows how to write lyrics.

I’m anxious to hear their music.

  25. hollywoodhoe says:

Buckner can kick some ass. I’ve also heard some good music from Lukas Rossi, P.O.D. and Papa Roach, but haven’t followed Chevelle. Curious to see how they all sound together.

  26. shellbell says:

I like all these guys from their other projects….Lukas can sing and the players are all good…I am dying to see what the music is like…..

  27. atlantachick says:

Looking forward to hearing this new band – I think we may be pleasantly surprised – this could be something totally different from their “standard”.. I know Lukas is a hell of a songwriter and I’ve seen him perform a few times and it’s always a great show. I say keep an open mind and see what transforms – heard they are in the studio recording now.

  28. missizzykitten says:

I hope we do get the hear them live
    sounds like a good time : )
