Live Going On Two Year Hiatus

Live have announced that they are taking a two year hiatus, but made it clear that the band is not breaking up. Front-man Ed Kowalczyk has launched his own website, eddieklive.com and is reportedly working on his first solo album.

The band have four remaining tour dates scheduled in July before their hiatus.

Taking a two year hiatus, what the hell have they called the last five years?

  2. DarkDragon says:

Might as well just give it up already.

Dude, there’s been no hiatus. A full album in 2006, a rarities album in 2007 and pretty constant touring. This sucks but it’s perfectly understandable. Sometimes breaks like this really help bands. I’m interested in hearing Kowalczyk’s solo stuff.

walrus, I didn’t know they did anything since Throwing Copper.

    Flyfreak doesn’t hear news.

But I can smell it. Sniff, sniff.

Well, they’ve been on a 10 year hiatus already for putting out good music. What happened Ed? Live is one of my hometown bands and they need to step it up and bring the heavier stuff like old times.

  8. pen says:

The “heavier” stuff, lol. When has Live ever been “heavy” in any real sense?

  9. Flyfreak says:

I think the drummer peaked at 205lbs.

  10. What a specific time frame, two years… interesting. Sometimes this is what bands need to get out some of their best work, so I am good with that.

Their last album, “Songs from Black Mountain” was awesome, in my opinion. Very underrated.

Pen, if you still are seeing this, “I Alone”, “Lakini’s Juice”, “White, Discussion”, “All Over You”, “Forever May Not Be Long Enough”. That kind of heavy stuff. They’ve gotten kind of soft lately, not gonna lie.

jman I totally agree with you. Everything after Throwing Copper got mellowed down.
