I personally think this is an awesome song, and im still having trouble admitting that to myself.

AB is still way better however.

  4. DarkDragon September 16, 2009 at 4:58 am #

I find these type of videos to be very boring.

in this interview Mark clearly said that creed is commercial and AB is art… for me the overcome video sucked, even song isnt something special and i hate those creed fanboys bashing AB… AB is better…

I agree with you guys. I didn’t like the video, I do like the song (and I effin hate Creed). But Alter Bridge is WAY the hell better. And Myles is 10x the vocalist of Scott Stapp!

This looks like it was filmed in Washington at the White River Amphitheatre! I like how they filmed the solo, on second glance.

I’m really not a Creed fan, but I love this song. I just really don’t like these kinds of videos. I mean, it’s better than nothing, but it just comes off to me as lazy. Having said that, the shots of the band live when it was actually synced to the music were great, and I could have lived with a video of nothing but that. And that solo in my opinion is Mark’s dirtiest. And I don’t mean a sounds bad kind of dirty. I mean I need to take a shower kind of dirty. :p

  9. enga83 September 16, 2009 at 7:51 am #

I did’nt like the video, but I love the song.

  10. germaine93 September 16, 2009 at 8:18 am #

i don’t care what anyone says..i love alter bridge! they are my favorite band by a lot and i still really dig creed. i believe they will close the gap in terms of how good they are with this new record. Now that being said, myles is still a god and they are still going to be better but having both is like having our cake AND eating it!! the video is cool and hopefully takes this song where it should go, top 5!

  11. All_Nightmare_Long September 16, 2009 at 9:29 am #

Good song, low budget video. If you’re going to say you did a video (especially for the lead single), shoot a REAL video. The only thing cool about this video is seeing Tremonti’s solo.

  12. tlmikel September 16, 2009 at 9:37 am #

I like how the username above alterbridge21 is calling people fanboys. kettle=black

  13. jakd-up September 16, 2009 at 9:45 am #

Remember…there would be no AB without Creed. Personally I love both bands and I actually like the video. After seeing it I’m probably gonna go see them next month in Nashville. Which is probably what they were wanting to accomplish. Looks like one hell of a show.

  14. J4ESTER September 16, 2009 at 11:04 am #

jakd…idk if your logic about without creed there would be no AB…what if they met through some other means? hmmmm odd..

  15. Joe September 16, 2009 at 11:16 am #

I don’t care what anyone says, that song is rockin’.

  16. jakd-up September 16, 2009 at 11:17 am #

Well Tremonti, Phillips and Marshall met Myles while The Mayfield Four were opening for Creed on tour. That’s my reasoning behind it. It could have happened without Creed too, but the chances of it are probably slim.

I like both Creed and Alter Bridge and I am eager to hear what both bands do in the future. This is a really good song and I can’t wait to hear the rest of the album.

As for the video, I usually hate videos like this, but I think I see the sense in it this time. This video shows what Creed was and is, it’s a video meant to remind people of who they are. It humanizes them with the behind the scenes bits, and the concert bits show off their live display. It’s saying, hey, here we are, remember us? Remember this? Forget the past, we’re people too, but we’re back and ready to rock. The only issue I have is that it is very reminiscent of “Higher”, but live, and I’m sure that’s deliberate.

  18. startsomething September 16, 2009 at 11:53 am #

I was never a huge creed fan, although i liked all there radio hits back in the 90′s but i gotta admit this song is just badass…def one of my favorite creed songs all time, i hope the new album is just as hard as this song

  19. flyfreak September 16, 2009 at 12:24 pm #

I can’t get over how awesome this song is. I think Myles directed and produced this video.

  20. Kyle September 16, 2009 at 1:39 pm #

    lol silly rabbit!
As for the video and song, I am still abstaining until the 27th of October.

  21. Kalt September 16, 2009 at 2:14 pm #

    Creed = Awesome

    AlterBridge = Awesome

Now stop arguing and enjoy the musics we’ve been given on this lovely day.

“I like how the username above alterbridge21 is calling people fanboys. kettle=black”

Haha, I was thinking the exact same thing Mikel, what a freakin idiot.

  23. Matt September 16, 2009 at 3:03 pm #

I’m getting tired of every single Creed news that comes up people have to bring up Alter Bridge. Just admit it, this song is freakin’ great and no one was expecting it to be this good cause everyone for some reason believes they are just back together to help out Alter Bridge, but I’m sorry that is false. Just freakin’ listen to Creed and stop bitching about how you believe Alter Bridge is so much better. You will be getting another CD from Alter Bridge in the future, but for now deal with Creed and stop crying.

  24. bcapa14 September 16, 2009 at 3:51 pm #

Have to admit, not a big creed fan, but I do like this song. The video however is stupid. I wish they would’ve come up with a cool idea for this video rather than what they did.

  25. PHOBIA September 16, 2009 at 4:58 pm #

I’m still not sure what to think of this song…it seems to fall short of the Creed I grew up with (“My Sacrifice,” “Higher,” “Weathered,” etc.). Mark really keeps the song from being bland though.

  26. ChosenOne September 16, 2009 at 5:10 pm #

Great video, Great Song and just a flat out awsome band. Here’s what I am reading into in watching this video. They are playing to packed houses, the fire is back, they are having fun, Creed is here to stay and it is now Altar Bridge to nowhere.

  27. Jesse September 16, 2009 at 8:26 pm #

Chosen, because you continue to insist that Alter Bridge (once you can spell the name) is finished, I will continue to insist that your opinion on the matter is stupid. Again, do you claim to know more about the situation than Mark, or Myles? If you do, that proves my point, and if not, why spout off nonsense.

As for having “fun”, Creed look bland onstage. Simple as that. There is no fire or chemistry going on in any of the concert videos I’ve seen.

I wouldn’t be too optimistic if you are hoping to see the end of Alter Bridge. It’s not going to happen. A close fan that I talk to said they have already scheduled studio time in late ’09.

  28. ChosenOne September 16, 2009 at 11:02 pm #

No I don’t claim to know more than Mark or Myles I’m merely stating my own opinion on ALTER Bridge. Weather I’m right or wrong, who knows. It’s just an opinion not a fact. If ALTER Bridge feels like they need to do another album to satisfy thier 10′s of fans, then so be it. One of us is right and one is wrong. Who cares. Your a fan so your more optimistic than I am, I’m not and don’t see the benefit of another ALTER Bridge album. Your entiled to your opinion and I am mine

  29. Matt September 16, 2009 at 11:30 pm #

Jesse I really don’t know how you could think everything that Mark says is set in stone. He said Creed would never re-unite, and look who’s bring out an album now. I’m not saying Alter Bridge will never bring out another album, but if Creed somehow becomes as popular as they used to be don’t expect another Alter Bridge album for a few years.

  30. alterbridge21 September 17, 2009 at 7:27 am #

matt that was a lame argument… bye
AB is big in Europe and thats why AB will go on…
Creed is big in US or was big, time has changed and music has changed and i dont think that creed will be big like their were 10 years ago

  31. Matt September 17, 2009 at 12:23 pm #

I don’t understand what was lame about it? The only thing I find lame is that you can’t stop posting on a bands news that you seem to hate. I think you are just trolling.

  32. musiqmaddman September 17, 2009 at 12:38 pm #

i think the main goal of the video was to show that they are just out to put themselves back together as a band and show that they are really united. as for the battle of ap vs creed… ab is a great band but creed is an epic one of a kind sound that just can’t be duplicated.

  33. countraysmoke September 17, 2009 at 1:02 pm #

Oh the hostility around here. I can feel the love. I love both of these bands. I was a slave to country music when I was younger and Creed was my first foray into anything heavier than Toby Kieth. My appreciation for all forms of music has increased exponentially since then. With that background into the “emotional” connection, if you would call it ithat, to Creed, I will say that I believe Alter Bridge is a better band. Creed was/ is a commercial giant, and from interviews I have listened to with Mark, It is my opinion that the Creed reunion was Stapp’s ploy to become notable again, after a couple of solid, but uninspired solo releases. I’m sure the thought of the extra income was not lost on the rest of the band. There is no way this would not go over well. However, and the guys have said this, Creed is commercial, Alter Bridge is art, and I sincerely hope that Alter Bridge, a great band, and in my opinion, a better one, is not lost to the commercial giant that is Creed.

  34. countraysmoke September 17, 2009 at 1:07 pm #

Plus if you ask me, this song sounds just as much, if not moreso like something from “Blackbird” than “Weathered”. Really Good song. I wouldn’t call it “Great” or “Epic”, but definitely better than a lot of radio drivel nowadays. Mark’s a G. I can only hope that this is one of the weaker songs on the album and the whole thing really blows me away.

  35. PHOBIA September 17, 2009 at 1:53 pm #

I think it’s really stupid that any Alter Bridge fan could hate Creed, and vice versa. Honestly.

  36. ChosenOne September 17, 2009 at 5:31 pm #

alterbridge21 has a point……ALTER Bridge is big in Europe. They never took off in the US and never will. If the Creed album becomes a huge sucess, what would be the point of continuing AB to satisfy there 10 fans in the US and however many in Europe. And phobia, I don’t like AB because I just can’t stand Myles voice. I know Jesse thinks he is a great singer but I don’t. If they had a different and better singer I would like them. Oh wait they do and his name is Scott Stapp

  37. countraysmoke September 17, 2009 at 10:32 pm #

There are 2 problems with your argument, Chosen: 1) While Alter Bridge may not be as big in the states as they are in Europe, they still have quite a following. Just because you don’t like them doesn’t mean that their fanbase is small. The fact that you don’t like Myles’ voice is your opinion, and not all people share it. As for me, on a record, I would take Stapp’s voice because it has a deeper, grungier feel to it and fits in with the music very well. However Myles’ voice fits in in a different way with Alter Bridge and allows them to do more with their instruments. Stapp’s range is fairly limited compared to Myles’. 2) Stapp’s live performances leave much to be desired while Kennedy’s performances are for the most part very good.

jakd-up do yourself a favor and see this show. They came through NY and it was amazing.Forget the AB/Creed who is better nonsense because it is just that.If you are a fan then you must see the show.Someone said that they look bland live in all the videos they see.Live is live and video will never capture that. They were really into what they were doing and you wont be dissapointed.

  39. Joe September 19, 2009 at 11:47 am #

I just watched that again and every time Stapp walks up to interact with Tremonti or Marshall, they get this look on their face and in their eye like, “oh God…what’s he gonna do.”
