@Chosen…Wind-Up didn’t drop them. The band wanted to really find their identity, and the label wanted them to be Creed Jr. Therefore, the BAND left Wind-Up and signed a multiple album deal. As for the legal issues, it’s not uncommon for switching labels to lead to issues because of rights. Keep showing the people who actually know something about music how inept you are.

Weather they left on thier own or was dropped matters not. They still never have and never will be as successful as Creed. Wind up knew that and gladly let them go. Universal gave the guys litteraly no push whatsoever. You guys can say all you want that thier music is “art” all you want. Besides getting you Alter Bridge fans wound up isn’t hard to do. I wonder why Wind up wanted them to be “Creed jr”. Could it be because the label knew what would be successful and what wouldn’t. Okay, let’s clear the air here.
Whether a band is dropped or they leave their label actually does matter.

For starters, Alter Bridge is the better band.
It allows all of the members to create music and add to the dynamic of the band. Whereas, with Creed, everything was and always will be about Scott Stapp. And Myles Kennedy seems like a much better guy, and he is a far superior singer. So let’s get that out of the way.

As far as the business side of things goes, A.B. bought out their contract from Wind-Up Records, and also secured their master recordings. They decided to leave Wind-Up because after the blatant failure of Scott Stapp’s solo album, (complete with lead single that sounded like a re-hashed version of My Sacrifice) the label kept pressuring them to re-form Creed. Because as successful of a label that Wind-Up is, they have yet to have any act that has matched the worldwide record sales of Creed.

And since at the time, Mark Tremonti and Co., were steadfast in their refusal to have anything to do with Stapp, they left. And after being courted by a handful of labels, they signed with Universal. And while Alter Bridge put out an album that was far superior to their debut album, the morons at Universal failed to promote it, and many people who are unaware of how incredible the music is didn’t buy it. And I guess Wind-Up is trying to put the kybosh on the A.B. DVD, because they want world’s attention on one simple thing.

And that is the fact that now, Wind-Up finally has their wish. Because after denying it for months, and claiming it would never happen, Tremonti, Phllips, and Marshall left Myles Kennedy standing in the wind, and they buddied back up with Scott Stapp, to do this bulls**t Creed reunion. Complete with tour and album. And while I’m sure Wind-Up is licking their chops, and planning to count all of the money they will make, I am extremely disappointed.

Being a Creed fan back in the day, I loved the band. But when Scott Stapp took his douchebaggery to new levels and ruined the band, I was glad they formed Alter Bridge and forged ahead. Now after being given two wonderful albums by A.B., I don’t want to see musicians this talented “go back to the well” and give Stapp the time of day. And while I’m sure it won’t matter on the grand scale of things, I refuse to support this current run of Creed. And will instead hold my breath, and wait for the Alter Bridge Live DVD. Because I know it will be THEN, when I will get some real music.

I don’t think anyone can say why Creed is back. It’s all assumptions a lot of you are making, it could be to try and get money to bring out a new Alter Bridge album, or they could just be doing it because they actually missed Creed.

Sounds like alot of people are digging to deep into this. I could care less what personal issues they have had with each other or that people are still upset with Stapp for whatever reasons. I’m fine with whatever as long as they (AlterBridge or Creed) put out good music. That should be the most important part as a fan or listener.

AlterBridge21: Dude I don’t like Korn or Avenged Sevenfold, in fact I would rather listen to AB then those guys. Listen radio and the label made Creed. Without it, Tremonti & Co would never have been well known. So why you like to be “Cool” and “alternative” and listen to other stuff, there are those who like the stuff on radio. Be mad at all the thousands who requested Creed on the radio and those who helped them sell 6x platinum because evidently they had a lot fans. Same with bands today that you hear on the radio. Also I don’t like Limp Bizkit either, again would listen AB over them. Also, I don’t play guitar but if I did there way more other songs I would play before I played AB. Also I’m not a singer but then again in my opinion, Myles isn’t that great either.
