How many side bands is Tool involved with? That said this is pretty cool.
Pretty cool cover (the original is by King Crimson).
Guess I should’ve read the more info link. Project involves Robert Fripp, John Wetton and Adrian Belew… absolutely insane.
tool is not involved in any side projects. just Maynard has his side projects e.g. APC, Puscifer and Caduceus.
love the song though. Anything Maynard related makes me jizz my pants
^You’re fucking disgusting.
How about Maynard just sits down with the boys and makes a new Tool album? That would excite me.
That said, this is an quite intriguing song…
It’s got a bit of an Iron Man vibe to it…but good song.
Still, it’s so frustrating to be a Tool fan and hear about side-project after colaboration after side-project just wanting new music from a favorite band. (Hell, more APC would be very welcomed at this point.)
hey, all you TOOLS out there. Read this: http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1581520/20080213/id_0.jhtml (it’s still vague, but at least it’s somethin’”
Tool has probably been in the studio working on new material for a while now. Maynard is so discrete about everything it wouldn’t surprise me.
Yeah, mclynk, I remember Tool saying they’d start writing way back in early 2008, too. Kinda of my point.
It’s hard to be a Tool fan when you read stuff like this, and nearly two years later no album or no updated news — except for some of this side projects going on.
Yeah, maybe they have been working on material between albums, but it seems like they are a two-albums-a-decade type band at this point.
They’ve always been that way though. The three-year gap between Undertow and Aenima was the shortest gap they’ve ever had between albums. It’s always been five years since then. I imagine that next year we’ll probably get something though. Either that or at least maybe something from Ashes Divide to tide people over.
I really don’t think that Maynard cares. It seems like he just makes music for fun or its just a hobby to him. Don’t get me wrong he is great at it, but I think there are other things that are more important to him, and I don’t think there is anything wrong with that.
It’s true. He seems to really be enjoying his wine production very much, and kudos to him. I get the feeling he could stop making Tool albums tomorrow and be perfectly happy just running his vineyard.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they popped out an album right at the end of the Mayan Calendar (AKA the end of the world) on December 21, 2012…sounds like something Maynard would do.
I would be perfectly happy quitting my full time job and drinking my own vineyard.
So basically what you are saying is we have to look forward to a couple of more Puscifer albums before December 2012. I can’t wait.
me neither, but what the hell else you gonna do?
Well if Puscifer puts out antoher album I will consider that the end of the world. I honestly think he is more into this band than he is into Tool.
Hahaha, that’s why he is a Tool….Fools.
I like Maynard but I just cant into Puscifier.
*can’t get
Stupid typos
It wouldn’t surprise me if we don’t see another Tool album ever again, actually.
I agree with the seniments here that Maynard really does have a lot going and it seems like Tool has been on the back-burner for years. Can’t fault the guy, he’s carved out a nice life and who here wouldn’t quit their day job with that kinda of money in the bank.
Maybe Chris Cornell would step up again and team with Adam, Justin and Danny to form another “supergroup.” That way I could miss both Soundgarden and Tool at the same time
Please, please, please…..no more Chris Cornell anything.
tool will be on the next “where are they now?”… nah i really hate to enter their site and see news about every shitty project (puscifer, pigmy, volto, apc, even f*n Aloke Dutta or Alex Grey)and nothing about TOOL at all…
Most of their songs are 8-10 minutes long. Pump three of those out and you have a new album.
Most of their albums are only three songs anyway, once you account for all the intros, outros, instrumentals, and totally batshit insane backwards talking messages. Fuck you Tool, “Right In Two” should’ve been the last track on 10000 Days.
Hahahahaha…..so f’n beautiful……
Viginti Tres was such a strange way to end that album.
Why?
Have you listened to it?
I love Tool!! One of the best live shows out there today!
Kyle, yes I have.
