Mudvayne have streamed their new song “Beautiful and Strange”, listen to it right here.
The track will appear on the band’s upcoming self-titled album due out December 22nd, and features black light reactive ink for all of the art and text in the packaging of the record, making it only visible with a black light.

I was about to submit this news. I hope it is more like their earlier stuff and last like The New Game. Take the Hellyeah influence out and make the classic Mudvayne again. Also, the black light idea seems pretty cool, but it’s not 1995 anymore (so I don’t know who owns one).

ditto on the wishing for mudvayne sound circa 90′s…i mean they should be able to do whatever they want to by now seeing as how they have fed the masses with radio pleasing studio edited mainstream tracks.

Wow, this song is beautiful…yet strange.
Chad Gray has one of the best voices in music today, and as a band they are extremely talented. I will love anything and everything they do. I don’t care whether they sound like old Mudvayne, new Mudvayne, or Hellyeah! I love it all! And remember all, they want to make great music but still get paid for it. So I’m sure in this day and time, if they went back to LD 50 sound they wouldn’t sell near as much as they would if they sound like a hybrid of Southern Rock and Alt. Metal! Keep that in mind!
I thought someone said that when they released The New Game they actually had the next album ready to go as well. I like Mudvayne.
They said they were going to release a new 6 months after the new game. They didn’t release it quite that quickly, but just over a year is good enugh for me. These guys to date are still the best show I have ever seen. Even better than the likes of Slipknot, and Mudvayne, and Disturbed. It’s such an emotional experience seeing them.
How can Mudvayne be better than “the likes of Mudvayne”? Just wondering.

To all the boo-hooers, clearly you are not into following the trend of modern music, bands will not go nearly as far with their careers if they do not adhere to some radio requirements. Though I agree that older Mudvayne is good, you cannot deny that this new Mudvanye, and well all Mudvayne is fantastic…

dryxx, dude, I agree with all of that. I think bands like Mudvayne, FFDP, and Atreyu have soooo much f’n talent than to scream/guttural the whole damn album. These bands have damn good musicians and I think they are tapping it out. I don’t give a shit what the “boo-hooers” think. Fuck em.

This song is simply amazing… a good mixture of old and new Mudvayne…Yes this cd has been done for a long time now… they were just waiting to release it so that they had time to tour for The New Game and also have time for Hellyeah writing. I have seen Mudvayne 3 times within a year and I have to say the stage presense and their talent seems to just be getting better as time goes on..Unreal live show!

I personally like ‘The New Game’ the best out of the Mudvayne albums. I’m probably alone in that, but ‘eh.
Cool they did a self-titled finally. Maybe that’ll mean a good mix of all their sounds in one, so that would make us all happy.

I knew there was no way, nobody can be machines and make an album that fast after their last one by starting off making new material. haha, it’s time for “GAME OVER” to hit the floor!!
agree with the Southern Rock statement…you know what would make for a kick ass album? an album that showcases everything they have to offer…a lil bit of everything dammit! i want it all! why stick to one thing on an album when they are so obviously capable of many diff sounds and variations of style? throw it all on there and make it good dammit…

King of Shadows, they already recorded this CD before The New Game was released. So releasing it this summer wouldn’t have been machine-esque, just poor timing.
Heather, since this album is called Mudvayne, it wouldn’t be a far stretch for it to encompass everything Mudvayne has to offer. Maybe you’ll get your wish!

well, when Lost & Found came out in ’05, I listened to that and only that for pretty close to 2 months. Mind you I didn’t know as many bands as i do now, but they always give me chills.
