Steven Tyler Quits Aerosmith?

Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry told the Las Vegas Sun on Friday that singer Steven Tyler quit the band following a recent concert in Abu Dhabi.

Steven quit as far as I can tell,” Perry said. “I don’t know any more than you do about it. I got off the plane two nights ago. I saw online that Steven said that he was going to leave the band. I don’t know for how long, indefinitely or whatever. Other than that, I don’t know.

Part of the problem“, Perry said, “is that Tyler doesn’t return his phone calls. He’s notorious for that,” “That’s one thing I’ve learned to live with. I try to overlook it. I like to pick my battles. Frankly, the last few months I’ve been wanting not to rock the boat. I don’t want him canceling any more gigs. We really wanted to do these last four. We just kind of didn’t want to call him out or anything and get him anymore pissed off, for whatever reason. So we just let things lie. So we did the gigs and, like I said, I got off the plane and saw this online. That’s how I know about it.

Perry said he arrived home in Boston on Wednesday and read on the Internet that Tyler planned to leave the band. “He has had no contact with me or the other band members,” Perry said.

He hopes to keep the band together, with or without Tyler. “Right now I’m adjusting to how we’re going to go on,“.

No, this can’t be. I love Aerosmith…..why? Why is so many bad things happening at once?

This band has been shit for years.

Hope it’s not true. Aerosmith without Steven is’nt Aerosmith.

Take it back Flyfreak.

Maybe they should just pull the plug…..They have been on life support since the early 90’s.

They brought out their best album in the 90s man haha

1993 was their last good year. After that…….well….see for yourself.

I have to disagree, “Just Push Play” is one of my favorite albums by them, and that came out in 2001. With one of my favorite songs of all time on it “Jaded”.

Just Push Play was a great album.

Since 93: Jaded, Sunshine, Pink, Nine Lives, Just Push Play, I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing, Girls Of Summer, Hole In My Soul, Full Circle, Fly Away From Here, Falling In Love, and Blind Man are the only songs that have had any/some popularity. That’s 12 songs since 1993 = Shit.

You’re pretty critical to everything that is not metal lately Flyfreak.

I’m sorry Matt. Toys In The Attic was about as far as I went with Aerosmith.

What about the Devil’s Got a New Disguise? The song, I mean. I loved that song. It should’ve been saved as the lead single of a whole new LP rather than a Greatest Hits album, it would’ve staged an awesome come back.

Aerosmith without Steven Tyler is like the Jimi Hendrix Experience without Jimi — pointless. Basically it’s a different band without him.

Let’s watch the dirty laundry be aired for a few years, then the reunion like nothing was ever wrong along with another tour when everyone is healthy and broke enough to have to tour again.

I think he has finally realized that he made a retardedly hot daughter and thinks the inbreeding must begin! But sad news. Love me some Smith!

Give it a couple of years, they’ll be back on the road again… With a new album. Steven Tyler’s probably still embarrassed from his slow ass fall off the stage in Sturgis at the Rally you know, since it’s almost everywhere online (the video that is).

Oh know… Steven Tyler might have realized that he is F***ING OLD AND NEEDS TO STOP!!! Honestly, they should have stopped years ago.. And don’t start thinking that I am hating on Aerosmith, I think they have left a great, nay an iconic stamp on the music industry.

However, they and all of the other bands from that era that are making the attempt to linger on, not really writing anything new, simply sticking to the same dynamic – album after album, all need to simply pack it up and live off their royalty cheques when their hit songs are used for car commercials and movies..

Plus, can anyone really say that they want to run out and spend WAY TOO MUCH MONEY, to go see Steven Tyler wearing his daughter’s pants flopping around on stage?? I think I will pass…

Well said sir, well said.

Awww.. thanks man…

I think he was talking to justbill.

I think it’s funny that you say you weren’t hating on Aerosmith, but went straight to making fun of a member. Very classy.

Matt, to whom are you referring?

Dryxx

Yeah, that was over the line.
