Oasis Members Starting New Band Without Noel Gallagher

Liam Gallagher has announced that he and the other ex-members of Oasis are starting a new band together, without his brother Noel, who quit and effectively broke up the band earlier this year.

In an Italian radio interview, Liam said, “We’re sort of doing things at the moment. Not Oasis, Oasis is done. Everyone except for Noel.”

They should call it Not Oasis. That would be awesome.

  2. tlmikel says:

They should name the band Island

How can I get in touch with these guys? Finger Uranus is one step closer to reality…..

Sadly, I could care less about Oasis ever coming back or not. Their last album was awful.

Doing things makes me think they are doing solo stuff. I guess you could construe that different ways unless he implicitly said they are doing stuff together…

This is just a bunch of pretentious ass lickers.

Ouch, that’s harsh! Flyfreak I normally agree with you, but if you don’t like Oasis, cool, bro. But let’s not turn this into Blabbermouth. Anyway…This is exactly what they should do. Anyone who is a fan knows that of late…Liam has not been the problem. He could easily go solo, but he wants to be in a band, and Gem and Andy(who have made the band much better) will now get a chance to put more than one song a piece on an album. Liam has been writing great stuff as well. This is great news! Or as great as it can be w/o the leader/main song writer in the band. Hopefully, one album a piece and they’re back together.

musicman, I’m referring to all the drama involved with this band. I enjoy an Oasis song from time to time.

Pretentious was a wrong word to use.

OK, FF. Now I feel better. mj2010: funny, but you’re killing me. Thought last album was great. Vibey, more full sounding, bit heavier, more rock, perhaps. I’m probably the only one here who digs Oasis. That’s what’s cool about music though, and I’m glad I still get to read about it on TuneLab.

mm: That is true about all the diverse bands and coversations on TL.
Matt: Now you’re the pretentious one.

  12. mattjames2010 says:

I was actually meaning I don’t find them to be pretentious.

  13. flyfreak says:

Yeah Matt you’re right: “We are the next Beatles”…..hahahaha

  14. mattjames2010 says:

They’re the closest band I have ever heard to duplicate The Beatles sound. I don’t think they were meaning they will be as big as them, just the sound. Just like Trivium, they are the closest thing I have ever heard to Metallica.

Brother, you’ve got to drop the crack pipe and sober up.

  16. ChosenOne says:

Hey musicman you are not alone in being an Oasis fan. Ever since I heard the song “wonderwall” I have been hooked on this band. Oasis is a great band. I say is because I am not buying the Noel leaving story. He’s done this multiple times and at the end of the day Oasis releases another album for flyfreak to enjoy. They will be back

I don’t understand how you don’t think Oasis has a lot similarities to The Beatles? I hate the Beatles, but Oasis put enough of their own sound into the music and made me like it. “Dig Out Your Soul” sounds like The Beatles in every way, and that’s why I hate the album. Actually, “(Get Off Your) High Horse Lady” sounds like a rip off to “Come Together”.

  18. flyfreak says:

I think Oasis sounds more like Fall Out Boy.
