Royal Bliss have streamed a new holiday song titled “I Just Want You (For Christmas)”, listen to it on their Myspace.
The band have also streamed a few songs from their upcoming new EP ‘Live and Acoustic in Studio A‘ due out November 24th, which features a cover of Johnny Cash’s “Folsom Prison Blues” as well as their songs “By and By”, “Devils and Angels”, “I Was Drunk”, “Pocket Dreams”, “Save Me”, and “We Did Nothing Wrong”.

I hate to be a scrooge, but man, christmas really brings out the worst in bands. Awful lyrics in this one, and hey!…Lets add some jingle bells in there! Lame. And this is coming from someone who really REALLY liked their last album.

These guys are AWESOME!!!! Love this band! That said I am not too high on bands doing christmas music. I vant wait to hear their take on “Folsom Prison Blues”! I can’t wait for them to come back town. I missed them last time.

Now, Folsom Prison Blues was a fantastic cover. I loved that. And I know this christmas tune is just supposed to be fun….but that’s the thing. It’s not. It’s sophomoric, with a generic x-mas “sound” sprinkled throughout. I warned you all that I was gonna be the scrooge of the bunch, but I just cant dig this tune.
Also it must be said, for all the hate Nickelback and other so called “cock rock” bands get on this site (and everywhere) this is EXACTLY the kind of Christmas song they would have wrote. Please tell me why you guys LOVE this song, but hate anything Nickelback does with the same message. I dont get it.

Ragekorne, it’s a Christmas song. I just don’t understand what YOU were expecting. Were you thinking it was going to be a capable radio smash hit? Take it for what it is.
Don’t care for xmas songs, but the acoustic tracks are great!

Actually Mattjames, that’s exactly what I expected. When you think about christmas music, you think about songs that bring joy to the MASSES. Not just horny frat boys who want to receive their gift on x-mas morning naked on the floor with just a bow on it. Look, I actually like Nickelback as well. And honestly, I dont find anything wrong with a song that tries to have just kick back and have fun. I also dont hold it against anyone for liking this. But it is just my opinion that if you think of a christmas song…..it should be better than this.
I gotta find that Evans Blue track though. Yeah, chainsaw where’d you hear it?
Folsom Prison Blues = AWESOME! I Just Want You for Christmas = not so awesome. Not as bad as I was expecting but it was just kinda fun. The rest of the stuff on Myspace was great. Again, I love this band!!
I have the Evans Blue track somewhere. Its not the ‘new’ Evans Blue. Its basically just Kevin.
Royal Bliss: Matt just likes to bitch at anyone who doesn’t agree with him. it’s his forte, style, M.O. or what have you. he often uses the authoritative “get over it” statement as though you should just change your mind to suit his. because his opinion is right and yours is wrong.
