Wentz Blames Himself For Fall Out Boy Demise

Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz has blamed himself for their demise due to his personal life becoming a “hindrance” for the band. The band recently decided to take an indefinite hiatus to allow them time to concentrate on other projects.

Wentz is convinced his high profile relationship with wife Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, which propelled the rocker into the gossip columns, had a negative impact on their music and he wanted to take a step back to stop his celebrity persona from overshadowing the band.

He tells British magazine Kerrang!, “My biggest personal reason for taking a break is that I feel my name has become a hindrance for the band. (Frontman Patrick Stump) is a musical genius and it’s unfortunate that he gets reviewed based on whatever’s going on in my personal life or how my hair looks. I think the world needs a little less Pete Wentz. A lot of people think Fall Out Boy is me. But it’s the four of us. I want to f***ing vomit when I read intros that say, ‘Pete Wentz: accidental internet poster boy.’ It makes me feel ugly.

So basically Ashlee Simpson is the new Yoko Ono. Personally don’t care as I have like FOB. However, Sugar Were Going Down was catchy

^Wow! I never passed remedial interpretation. Can anyone clarify those remarks?

Pete’s not really a bad guy, or this “douche” celebrity that most people see him as. He used to be in a hardcore band, and he cares about important stuff. His lyrical style is unique and says so much about pop culture, and about society in general, and how people act. His lyrics are more political, and social then most, and def. more then what they get credit for.

He makes a good point. One of the most frequently expressed statements, other than “I hate Fall Out Boy,” is “I cant stand Pete Wentz.” Hopefully this break will allow all the media crap to simmer down and then they can return to producing good, enjoyable music that too many people cant stand.

    Hopefully not…..

Yeah, I just want to say the word “demise” in the article is greatly exaggerated by the press. None of the members of FOB have used that word at all. They’ve used more obvious words, like hiatus, or break. They’re coming back, is my point.

I think the word demise is referring to all of the negative connotations associated with the band due to Wentz’s antics.

  14. TH\'NEWBLACK says:

I think it;s good that Wentz isn’t as big of a douche he seems to be. But again, I’m still glad they aren’t making music for awhile.

  15. flyfreak says:

I Wentzed the hell out of my wife last night.

  16. ccrosbie33 says:

Good he gives credit to Patrick Stump…no one would know Pete’s name without Patty’s golden voice…

  17. Troy says:

I just Wentzed all over myself!!

  18. flyfreak says:

Troy, you are sooooo disrespectful…..How could you?

  19. Troy says:

I just love these guys so much……….

  20. flyfreak says:
