this is the year of Gavin Rossdale

  5. Much love Santana, but Cornell singing Zeppelin? UGH…

makes me nervous but I’m so damn curious.

I think he’s going to do a great job. I mean, it’s not a very complicated song to sing, and Chris Cornell has one of the most unique voices that came out of the 90s.

In my opinion, wish Santana picked a better song for him, I hate the lyrics of “Whole Lotta Love”.

      • last2know says:

yeah from the 90s… but his voice is just not the same anymore. its totally shot. but its a studio version so it should be decent. not like its live lol

        • mattjames2010 says:

Ummm, what? You are the first person I know that has said his voice was shot. You should maybe watch some live youtube videos of his performances, or go to one of his shows.

Nas is a very odd choice, I also don’t get Pat Monahan covering Van Halen. He’s a good vocalist but seems better suited for a slow song, maybe Santana’s going to bring out a different side of him. The rest seem like very good choices and I’m glad that Santana seems to be making a full on rock album this time.

I didn’t know anything about this before now, but seems like an exciting album

Most of these make me cringe just thinking about how awful they will be.

However Jacoby singing smoke on the the water will be awesome..

And Johnny Lang and Santana together is going to be a guiatar playing orgasm

  9. Hunter says:

    Fortunate Son’s gonna kick ass.

  10. last2know says:

shaddix singing smoke on the water?? hmm could go either way. if what im hearing in my head is any indication, its not gonna be good

  11. Jesse says:

C’mon people, nobody commenting on the obvious bust? SCOTT STAPP singing fucking CCR? I don’t know what to think of that. It might be a decent cover, but he just doesn’t have the right voice for that…

Now, Cornell, Weiland, Thomas, Rossdale and Monahan, I’m all ears for. I’m not sure what to think about Daughtry or Bennington but I’m hesitantly excited for those too.

Back in Black is going to make me feel like killing myself.

That’s pretty interesting to see Chris Daughtry featuring. I’ll have to look into this for sure.
