Apple will be extending song previews from 30 seconds to 90 seconds within the US version of their iTunes music store. The change will take place soon for any tracks that are longer than 2:30 (shorter songs will keep 30-second previews). This move places them closer to the TuneLab Store, where users can stream the entire song except with a voiceover inside the track and the last 15 seconds cut off. TuneLab recognizes that consumers would like to know what they’re buying before they buy it, which is why we allow a stream of almost the entire track. It appears Apple is beginning to realize that as well.
