Hot on the heels of their upcoming nationwide tour with Rob Zombie, Megadeth stormed into Orlando, Florida on Sunday night at the Hard Rock Live to a raucous crowd of fans, new and old alike. It had been a VERY long time since I had seen Megadeth (almost 6 years!) and was really looking forward to seeing them play songs off of their newest release ‘Th1rt3en’.

Before heading into this show, I wondered to myself which song Megadeth would open with. Could it possibly be a song off of the new album like Sudden Death (which appears on Guitar Hero), Never Dead or Public Enemy No. 1? Or maybe one of their classics like Symphony of Destruction or Holy Wars? (My money was NOT on these!) To my surprise they opened up with Trust off of Cryptic Writings to a crowd who was definitely ready to rock. Throughout the next 2 hours, they took the audience on a journey through much of their historic collection of metal, intertwining fan favorites and their most popular songs with lesser known tracks and a plethora of solos from Dave Mustaine and Chris Broderick.

Closing out the night with an encore of Holy Wars, Megadeth brought the house down in Orlando. This will definitely not be the last time I see them.
