Album Stream: Transmit Now – ‘Downtown Merry-Go-Round’

Transmit Now is a Powerpop-rock quintet rising from the already vibrant Central Florida music scene. Starting their careers with a slot on the 2008 Warped Tour in Orlando, Transmit Now was determined to be noticed from the get go!

The band chose to work with producers Pete Thornton (Paramore, Shinedown) and Brooks Paschal (Sullivan) on their debut Self-Titled release which went on to garner much press from the likes of MTV, Alternative Press, AbsolutePunk and The Daily Chorus.

With Transmit Now already having numerous self booked tours under their belt, they have no intention of slowing down just yet; managing to share the stage with the likes of Anberlin, Faming Hanley, Mayday Parade, Mercy Mercedes and many more.

The next chapter in the Transmit Now story began in early 2009 with the guys teaming up with music industry heavyweight Jeff Hanson (Creed, Sevendust) and his record label, Silent Majority Group (Warner Music Group/ILG).

With the guidance of SMG and along with producer Brett Hestla (Framing Hanley, Dark New Day), the band recorded its first full-length record due online April 20th and in stores May 25th. The story won’t end here – it will continue to unfold as the band works harder and harder to pen their names in today’s modern rock scene!

Rock On The Range 2010 Lineup Announced

Lineup for the 2010 Rock on the Range festival in Columbus, Ohio has been released. The two day event on May 22nd and 23rd will feature performances from thirty eight bands including Godsmack, Rob Zombie, Three Days Grace, Limp Bizkit, Rise Against, Seether, Slash, Deftones, Papa Roach, Five Finger Death Punch, Coheed and Cambria, Bullet for My Valentine, Mastodon, Killswitch Engage, Theory of a Deadman, Puddle of Mudd, Sevendust, Drowning Pool, Skillet, Apocalyptica, Halestorm, Airbourne, Mushroomhead, Adelitas Way, Helmet, Escape the Fate, Cold, Anberlin, Nonpoint, 2cents, Violent Soho, Janus, Shaman’s Harvest, Year Long Disaster, Taddy Porter, Like a Storm and Noise Auction.

Tickets go on sale February 20th at 10am EST.

Anberlin Set Date For Deluxe ‘New Surrender’

Anberlin will release a deluxe edition of their 2008 album ‘New Surrender‘ on December 15th. The new edition features a twenty six minute documentary of their Australian tour, live performances and other previously unreleased footage plus the band’s cover of New Order’s “True Faith, Danzig’s “Mother” and other b-sides and rarities.

Anberlin’s latest studio effort ‘Blueprints For City Friendships: The Anberlin Anthology‘ is available now.

After releasing their national, self-titled debut under Nashville’s RKT records in June 2007 and touring the country from Georgia to California to support the album, the four guys in High Flight Society (Jason Wilkes, brothers Michael and John Packer and Scotty Lockridge) had accomplished just about everything a young band could hope to. Radio success with songs like “Sweet Redeemer” and “Time is Running Out,” playing shows in front of crowds of thousands and being named one of the top 100 releases of 2007 by itunes were crowning achievements. The road to success, however, is never an easy one. RKT shut its doors shortly after releasing the album, partially extinguishing the flame of what was a promising career.

The touring and the writing of new music, however, didn’t stop and a new day brings new opportunities.

Flash forward to the end of 2008 and the flame is beginning to burn bright again. Fueled by the best music of their career thus far, which is about to be recorded and released, and new member Jerad Griffin (formerly of Anberlin, on guitar/background vocal duties), who has added a fresh dynamic to their sound and already tight live show, morale is high among the HFS team and their many fans all over the world alike. The road to success may not be easy but for HFS now, the path there has never been more clearly lit or eaiser to see.
