Duff McKagan Joins Jane’s Addiction
Velvet Revolver bassist Duff McKagan has reportedly joined the lineup of Jane’s Addiction for their upcoming record. McKagan replaces Eric Avery who rejoined the group in 2008 only to leave in January 2010.

Throwing Gravity, formerly The Rust, have signed with Lava Records for the release of their new album. Recording is currently underway with Jon King, who produced their 2007 album ‘The Anticipation‘, and Josh Abraham (Velvet Revolver, Rev Theory) co-producing the effort which is due in mid-2010.
Slipknot / Stone Sour front-man Corey Taylor has confirmed that he had auditioned and was being considered as the front-man for Velvet Revolver after the departure of Scott Weiland.
Taylor said, “I had a meeting with those guys , we did some demos together, and it just didn’t work — for whatever reason.”

Audio of two unreleased Velvet Revolver tracks “Motha F*cka” and “Clappy” featuring vocals from auditioning singer Gord Prior are available here. Instrumentals of the two demos were sent to potential singers by Velvet Revolver’s management.
The band has been searching for a new singer since parting ways with Scott Weiland last April.
Velvet Revolver have announced that they are just “weeks away” from revealing their new front-man and have it narrowed down to a couple of guys.
